New roofs in High Wycombe, stripped back to the rafters and built properly

New roofs in High Wycombe, from a terrace in the town to a detached house up on the hill. Pat explains your options, puts the price in writing and leaves the roof finished, tidy and guaranteed. Ring 01494 292776.

A new roof is only as good as what goes under the tiles. The old tiles and felt come off, the rafters are checked and any rot is shown to you, new breathable membrane goes on, then new treated battens, then the tiles from the eaves up, finished with the ridge, hips and verges and new lead where the roof meets a wall or a chimney.

Our own photos show every stage: roofs stripped back to the rafters, new membrane and battens going on, tiles loaded out, and the finished roof in red or grey tiles. Peter wrote on Google that we "give multiple re_roof options and explained each thing individually". You choose the tile and the finish, and Pat prices each option.

All materials are supplied and all waste is taken away, so you are not left with a skip of old tiles. Frankie's review of his complete re-roof: "They explained everything clearly, provided a fair and detailed quote, and stuck to the agreed timescale."

New roofs: your questions answered

How much does a new roof cost in High Wycombe?

Around High Wycombe a two-bedroom terrace in concrete tiles runs £7,500 to £12,000, a three-bedroom semi £9,500 to £15,000, a bungalow £9,000 to £15,000 and a detached house £14,000 to £22,000 or more, scaffold and skip included. Our new roof cost guide explains what moves the price.

How long does a new roof take?

About a week on site for a terrace or semi once the scaffold is up, longer for a large detached house. The roof is left watertight at the end of every day.

Can I choose the tiles?

Yes. Red or grey concrete tiles, clay tiles or slate. Pat prices each option so you can compare.

Is a new roof guaranteed?

Yes. Our materials and workmanship are guaranteed, and the guarantee for your roof is written on your quote.

Do I need planning permission?

Not for a like-for-like re-roof on most houses. Listed buildings and changes of material in a conservation area, such as old Marlow, Beaconsfield or Amersham, need the council's say first.

What our customers say

FrankieComplete re-roof · February 2026

I recently had a complete new re-roof done by Safe Tech Roofing, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the result. From start to finish, their professionalism was spot on. They explained everything clearly, provided a fair and detailed quote, and stuck to the agreed timescale. The team worked incredibly hard, kept the site clean and organised, and showed real attention to detail throughout the entire job. The quality of workmanship is excellent, the new roof looks fantastic and gives me complete peace of mind knowing it’s been done properly. You can tell they take real pride in what they do. Reliable, skilled, and trustworthy, I would highly recommend Safe Tech Roofing to anyone needing roofing work done. Top company. Top job.

KerryRoof and loft repairs, chimney support · February 2026

Safetech Roofing completed a number of repairs to the roof and loft space in my house, as well as the installation of an internal support element for a partially removed chimney stack. The work was done to a very high standard and at the agreed quotation, which was good value. A council building control officer then inspected and passed the structural element of the works. When some queries were raised by building control, Safetech went above and beyond to help resolve them. The suggestions made by Safetech and their team all the way through were extremely knowledgeable and practical. They also actively discouraged me from carrying out unnecessary expensive work, and instead suggested a lower cost, simpler solution, which the building control officer then agreed with. Additionally, the scaffolding had to be left in place far, far longer than expected - this was due to delays on my side and Pat generously didn’t charge extra for this

FrancescaSmall roof repair · February 2026

We contacted the service about a roofing issue at our home and he came out the very next day to take a look. Even though the job was small, he was willing to take it on without hesitation. The work was handled professionally and in a timely manner. It’s not always easy to find someone who responds quickly and is willing to help with smaller projects. Highly recommended!
